Carrying Michael’s Light and Legacy Forward
Saint Michael’s Angels was founded in honor of Michael Maffei — a kind, fearless, and compassionate boy whose spirit continues to inspire everyone who knew him. Michael had a big heart and joyful energy, always ready to make someone smile and brighten their day. He had a clever sense of humor, loved to make people laugh, and was endlessly curious about the world. From learning everything he could about history to telling stories by the fire, riding his quad, practicing jujutsu, or encouraging others through life’s challenges, Michael’s presence left a lasting mark.
Michael dreamed of inspiring other children facing cancer, often encouraging them by saying, “If I can do it, you can do it.”
Saint Michael’s Angels carries that spirit forward by providing financial assistance and care packages to families navigating the challenges of childhood cancer. Just as we received support from friends, family, and even strangers during Michael’s fight, we now pay that love forward — helping families in need and spreading kindness in his honor. Every care package, every act of support, and every family we help is a way to keep Michael’s light shining and remind others they are not alone.
